Northridge Sponsors Women’s Sports Foundation “Speak with Sport” Event
The Northridge Group is a proud supporter of the Women’s Sports Foundation and a sponsor of their 2020 Annual Salute to Women in Sports, “Speak with Sport” Event. The Annual Salute is the biggest night in women’s sports and WSF’s most important fundraising event. It’s a platform to share stories of impact and to highlight voices promoting equality and activism.
The Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) will bring together top athletes, coaches, sports influencers and celebrities for a one-night, free and open-to-all broadcast event to inspire millions of youth, families and communities to embrace the power of sport and join the WSF’s movement towards equality. “Speak with Sport” will celebrate the most accomplished women and leaders in sports including retired Chairman and CEO of Xerox Ursula Burns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Bruce Arians and The Players of the WNBA – and the girls they inspire. This exciting and entertaining hour-long event will take place on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020, at 8 PM ET via live stream on Yahoo Sports. World champion boxer Laila Ali will host the online broadcast, alongside an all-star line-up of athletes and guests including Billie Jean King, Natalie Portman, Candance Parker, Meghan Duggan, Lindsey Vonn, Carli Lloyd, Alana Nichols, Jessica Mendoza, Michelle Kwan, and many more. The broadcast will be preceded by the pre-show Red Carpet Cocktail Party at 7 PM ET, hosted by sports journalists Julie Foudy and LaChina Robinson – an exclusive experience for donors at the “fan” level and higher. The event proceeds will help strengthen and expand participation and leadership opportunities for all girls and women.
To date, WSF has provided more than $80 million in grants and programs to help girls unlock their boundless potential through the lifelong benefits of sport participation. WSF is also the guardian of Title IX and remains fully dedicated to the principles of equality outlined in this groundbreaking legislation. WSF is a movement that celebrates all races, ethnicities, gender identities, abilities, backgrounds and ages. Their all-encompassing, inclusive drive for equity and equality is a global call to action, because society wins when inclusion becomes a team sport. As we return to sport, the Women’s Sports Foundation’s work is critical to ensuring that the field for girls and women remains equitable – from the playground to the arena to the boardroom, and beyond.
