Reading time: 4 Minutes

Each year, as Thanksgiving approaches, my thoughts turn to the people in my life for whom I am grateful. As always, I am grateful for my family, the Northridge team, our clients and partners, my comradery of peers, and our community.

Many people have helped me this year in a major way or in a way that isn’t so obvious, and they may not be aware of the significant impact they have had on me. They may have sent me an article that made an impression on me, given me a great idea, helped me think about an issue differently, or contributed to the growth of our business in some way. While I very much appreciate all these gestures of support, my busy schedule often precludes me from expressing my gratitude in a timely fashion. I plan to improve on this because words of kindness matter.

The Circle of Success

I am especially grateful to my peers and the sage advice they offer me on an ongoing basis, as we help each other solve problems and achieve our mutual goals. One fellow business leader, in particular, inspired me with his theory that the best way to give back to society and your community is to create meaningful jobs for others. The jobs we create, enable others to create success for themselves so they can sustain their families and accomplish their goals. The creation of meaningful jobs also allows companies to provide employment and pay taxes which benefits the larger community. I live by his wise advice which is, whenever possible, to make business decisions that better the lives of your employees, your clients, and your community. When you help your clients achieve success, your business will grow. When your business grows, your employees will prosper. When your employees prosper, your community will benefit. There is strength in this circle of success. Everyone wins!

I am forever grateful to our clients and partners. Northridge partners with clients to transform and grow their businesses. Our clients, in turn, have leveraged their business successes to support their employees and communities, enabling the continuation of this circle of success.

I am eternally grateful to the Northridge team. Through thick and thin, in good times and challenging times, this team is my glue. They are always willing to step up to face new challenges or to think outside the box about new solutions to problems. I especially appreciate their understanding that occasionally I must make unpopular decisions.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the circle of success that we are all a part of. By helping each other succeed, we help our communities and fulfill our civic responsibilities.

While I am grateful to others all year round, as Thanksgiving approaches, I want to offer a far-reaching and all-inclusive expression of gratitude to our clients, our business partners, our team, our community, my peers, and my family. You are all very important to me and I appreciate your support. Your contributions mean a lot to me though I may not tell you that as often as I should.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

Therese
