Best Practices Ensure Success
To evaluate any business process, it is necessary to understand how the process functions in the day to day work environment. Northridge engagements begin by developing a baseline that documents current operations. We look at existing documentation; gather preliminary cost data and interview stakeholders at multiple levels to develop the current process map. Swim lanes or flowcharts are used to identify functions or responsibilities.
This body of data is then benchmarked against external data and best in class practices. A gap analysis is performed to guide the design of the new or improved process. Northridge will explore resource and organizational requirements, as well as ROI for alternative solutions and develop a preliminary recommendation to be reviewed with the client team.
Working closely with this team, the recommendation is refined before the final documentation is prepared. Deliverables include a roadmap and timeline for implementation, clear definition of roles and responsibilities, measurements of success as well as the expected ROI. Clients may choose to implement process changes on their own or ask Northridge to manage the implementation. Either way, we make sure that sufficient knowledge is transferred to the organization to enable the best outcome.
